End of Season Rival Game

With a nail-biter game to end the season, boys volleyball is officially over. This final game packed the stands with excited fans from both schools as they sat on the edge of their seats in anticipation of who would win. Both sets of the games were neck and neck - one team would serve and the volley would begin, going from one team to the other several times. Finally, the setter would give their hitter the opportune set and the ball was sent spiraling towards the opposing team and a point was won. A highlight hitter of the evening was #8, Jacob Smithson as he aced ball after ball at the cowering Granada matadors. However, even though the Cowboys "played hard...all [of] those little mistakes caught up to us in the end" as #25, Armaan Bhatia stated.

#23, Michael Nelson has similar thoughts as he said "Granada is a good team [but] I think we played well." #20, Dinari Crain-Gully added that "everyone played good. We had some mistakes and fought against one of the strongest teams we've faced so far, but in the end it was still a good learning experience."

#30, Shushu Devaraja added that "We could’ve definitely won the game if we did a little bit better no the defense. My hitting could’ve been better. But overall we played in urgency. The close game really surprised all of us and especially having a close game with an undefeated team meant that we didn’t take it light, but it is also sad that we couldn’t get few more points and won the game. At the end we all played as a team, didn’t fuss about anything, everyone did their part on court and everyone gave their best to the game."

Overall, the team consensus seems to be that even though they didn't end the season with a win, the game was still a success and are all proud of how hard they fought.
